Thank you! I'm going to go ahead and assume that's a good damn!

Especially since I remember that you liked the prompt as well, which was pretty cool in and of itself - it is a kinda specialised overlap of interests.

And the prompt gave me an excuse to reread House of Leaves, which oddly enough I liked more than when I read it soon after it came out - I think I wasn't expecting it to be David Foster Wallace just because it had footnotes, or something, and was happy to read it as more or less straight-up horror, as to which, oh man, that book is scary.

But anyway! I'm especially glad that this didn't grate against your teeth, because it looks like you have some real knowledge of the period (Band of Brothers...), whileas I really don't. Which is where the film came in handy, ahem.

Also, making up references to put in the footnotes was SO FUN. Transgression!
