I jumped on an open prompt (theme: 'dinner party') at [community profile] fic_promptly. Series: Avatar, naturally. Characters: Iroh, Zuko, Azula.

The theme of the day was 'food', so how could I resist?

(currently eating: 'Supreme Preserved Plum': not as all round awesome as wah plums, but less tooth-achingly sweet than the poignantly-named 'Seedless Lover's Plum').

A/N: an attempt at genderswap.

Wow, about a month after I write my first fic and I’m already managing to combine genderswap and femslash. I AM BRITISH, OK. I HAVE TO WORK MY WAY UP TO THESE THINGS. Whatever, I am proud! I feel I have truly penetrated fandom! *wipes away single manly tear* Ok, uh, sorry, I should stop now. I don't mean to be flippant about the performance of gender. Especially as to my shame this is entirely work-safe. Well, there is kissing, does that count?

And seriously, please tell me if I’m showing my working too much or not enough or doing anything dumb/offensive in general here. I aim to genderswap responsibly, even if I do make it mostly all about the semiotics of hair. Oops.

Two objective points are relevant: it reflects light efficiently; that is, it is bright, indeed dazzling; moreover, it does not tarnish (oxidize); it is unchanging through time, incorruptible.
